Oxford is seeking an Analyst, Asset Management to join our Canadian Asset Management team in our corporate head office in downtown Toronto. This position supports the Canadian Asset Management team in a collaborative effort to maximize asset values and investment returns. In addition, this team develops the asset management and strategic investment plans for each asset and leads co-ownership relationships.
As an Analyst, Asset Management, you will be responsible for:- Working with internal partners to maximize returns and enhance asset value by identifying revenue improvement and/or expense management opportunities through analysis of operating results, key leasing transactions, and capital expenditures.
- Leading a collaborative effort with internal and external stakeholders to develop, update, and maintain the Asset Management Plans on an annual basis and develop tools to track performance against plans.
- Providing analytical support and input in the preparation of recurring portfolio and property level reporting, annual operating and capital budgets, as well as quarterly reforecasts.
- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing monthly and quarterly Asset Management and Property Management reports and financial results including leasing analysis, variance analysis, return calculations, and benchmark comparisons.
- Developing and improving on existing high-impact, value-add reporting and presentations provided to internal management and co-owners including operating results, leasing performance, capital expenditures, variance analysis, and more.
- Providing Asset Management support to the Leasing, Operations, Development, Investments, Finance & Capital Markets, Research, and Valuations teams by delivering operating, market, and underwriting assumptions for new developments, financings, acquisitions/dispositions, valuations, and other corporate activities.
- Analyzing and recommending ways to unlock value from new technology and ESG initiatives.
- Conducting and performing market research and analysis on a regular basis to understand macro, micro, and submarket conditions and trends.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives including the creation of data analytics dashboards.
To succeed in this role, you have:- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or Engineering.
- 1-2 years of work experience in retail real estate (Asset Management, Valuations, Leasing, Investments, or Development).
- Familiarity with fundamental concepts and terminology related to commercial real estate investment and operations.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ARGUS Enterprise, Yardi, and Power BI is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities as well as interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, presentation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- A self-motivated, resourceful individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with multiple competing deadlines.
- A flexible attitude towards a variety of work tasks and demands as well as the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
