Analyst, Asset Management

This position reports to the Director of Asset Management. The Analyst is responsible for the output and analysis of operational and financial reporting, tracking of capital expenditures, assisting in the preparation of annual operating budgets, consolidating due diligence materials for property dispositions / financing and other ad-hoc projects as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze operational data for strategic review by the asset manager and executives such as lease transactions and return on capital investments.
• Assist in the preparation of full quarterly reporting and prepare any other reporting reasonably requested by the asset manager, leasing manager and executives from time to time.
• Fully analyze financial results and organize them as required for presentation in the quarterly reports and other reporting as requested for stakeholders.
• Assist in the creation of asset plans, and annual operating and capital budgets in accordance with the asset plans.
• Complete market research for the specific submarket of each asset and make recommendations to the asset management team based on results; including market rates, parking, storage and other services / amenities offered.
• Identify revenue enhancing and value creation opportunities.
• Analyze expenses including utility consumption tracking and identify cost savings opportunities.
• Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and other transactions and co-ordination of such due diligence activities as necessary.
• Assist asset managers, leasing managers and executives as needed with any other property analytical information.
• Prepare presentations for committees, Board of Directors and/or partners and produce quarterly property and portfolio statistics and key financial metrics.
• Review all deliverables for consistency and accuracy with the asset manager.
• Asset manage a select portfolio of single tenant occupied building(s).
• Other ad-hoc assignments and/or duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration or similar education.

• Experience in real estate, commercial sector an asset.
