Humber River Health (HRH) is one of Canada’s largest acute care hospitals, fully digital, and serving a diverse catchment area of more than 850,000 people in the northwest Greater Toronto Area. HRH operates 722 acute inpatient beds with 3,400 staff, approximately 700 physicians, and over 1,000 volunteers. HRH currently includes the Wilson site, a 656-bed full service acute care facility that opened in 2015, and the Finch and Church sites, known as the "Reactivation Centres” (RCC). A 356-bed long-term care facility “Humber Meadows” is currently under construction at the Finch Avenue site.

HRH's Department of Anesthesia is a diverse and vibrant group of over 40 anesthesiologists. It prides itself on fostering a supportive and collegial environment. Surgical service at HRH includes general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, oral maxillofacial, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pediatric, plastic surgery, urology, vascular surgery. HRH operates 19 operating rooms, 5 endoscopy rooms, a labour and delivery unit with 3 operating rooms as well as a 4-bay anesthesia block room. Call coverage consists of two anesthesiologists daily for OR and OB.

ANAESTHESIOLOGISTS

Candidates must be FRCPC anesthesiologists. No additional fellowship training is required, but additional training in pediatric or obstetrical anesthesia would be an asset as well as skills in quality improvement and excellence in teaching medical learners.

In addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, you require relevant certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and are a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
