AltaGas - Senior Partner, Learning and Development

This is a thrilling opportunity to shape the future of AltaGas' talent development in a newly created role. Reporting to the Senior Director of Talent, you'll be at the forefront of designing, building, and implementing a Learning and Development function from the ground up.

You Will:

  1. Build AltaGas’ new learning and development function including designing and implementing multi-model approaches and strategies over a multi-year time horizon – note this is a build (not operate) role
  2. Ensure learning and development efforts are prioritized, skill based, and enable the execution of our overall business strategies
  3. Support and drive an organizational commitment to internal employee growth and development
  4. Address the complexities of development needs across different business units and geographies, often with different starting points and priorities
  5. Ensure diverse development and learning methods (multi-modal) are considered and embedded into the learning and development approach
  6. Evaluate learning and development options through high quality business cases
  7. Work closely with vendors and internal partners to source, develop and deliver high quality programming
  8. Facilitate sessions as required to all levels of the organization (in both virtual and in person settings)
  9. Assess and measure the effectiveness and impact of development plans and programs
  10. Manage to overall learning and development budget

You Have:

  1. Over 7 years of experience in Learning and Development, with a proven track record in creating, executing, and delivering comprehensive learning strategies and programs
  2. Demonstrated expertise in establishing and developing a learning and development function or similar initiatives
  3. Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and management
  4. Experience in sourcing and managing external vendor partnerships and relationships
  5. Skill in project scoping, planning, and management
  6. Competency in budget management
  7. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) Exceptional communication and facilitation skills
  8. Strong critical and creative thinking abilities
  9. Drive to achieve execution and results
  10. Willingness to actively engage in hands-on tasks
  11. Bachelor's degree in HR, psychology, education, business, or a related field, considered an asset
