AltaGas - Operator 4 (Pipestone Facility)

The AltaGas Pipestone facility is seeking an Operator 4 to join our team! Under the supervision of senior personnel, the Operator is responsible for maintaining daily operations including facility operations, troubleshooting, and effective communication of operational activities. The Operator will also ensure that activities conducted on worksites are completed in compliance with all AltaGas and external third-party policies and requirements.

The shift schedule for this facility is 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hours per day. The facility is located in Grande Prairie, AB.

What You'll Do:

1. Assist in the daily operation of the Pipestone Gas Plant facilities, working the 12-hour day/night shift schedule, on 7 days on, 7 days off schedule.
2. Assist in the safe and efficient operation of all scheduled and unscheduled work including issuing safe work permits and all associated documentation to ensure worker safety.
3. Participate in commissioning, turnaround planning, and start-ups.
4. Ensure overall plant production, safety, and reliability.
5. Actively engage in process understanding through learning and training opportunities.
6. Update and develop facility operating procedures.
7. Troubleshoot equipment and process upsets.
8. Recognize and avoid inappropriate risks, consider the impact, and consult with senior personnel before taking action.
9. Assist and participate in EH&S meetings and inspections.

What You Bring:

1. Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Completion of an accredited Power Engineering program with a fourth-class Steam Ticket.
3. 1+ years of experience in gas plant or pipeline operations preferred.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Strong troubleshooting abilities.
6. Unwavering dedication to supporting a safe, incident-free work environment.

This is a safety-sensitive role and requires a post-offer background check, including an alcohol and drug test.

Where You'll Work:

Owned and operated by AltaGas, Pipestone is a high-quality operational sour deep-cut natural gas facility with 110 Mmcf/d of processing capacity and 20,000 Bbls/d of liquids handling capacity located in the heart of the Alberta Montney. The facility includes 67 km of natural gas gathering pipelines that are tied into key production regions and provides strategic egress connections to the NGTL and the Alliance pipeline systems.

The facility also includes the Pipestone condensate truck-in/truck-out terminal for liquids handling and value maximization. AltaGas also has 33 MW of co-generation capacity at Pipestone. The co-generation facility has a waste heat recovery unit that is capable of producing the process heat required to process gas at Pipestone.
