Join the Airports team at Flair, where data-driven insights shape operational excellence. The Airport Operations Analyst is responsible for operational data analytics, performance reporting, and research to support airport operations programs and strategy.

This role analyzes key performance metrics, identifies operational inefficiencies, and provides data-driven recommendations to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Airport Operations Analyst helps optimize processes, improve resource allocation, and support strategic decision-making, ensuring continuous improvement across airport operations.

This role is based on-site at our Vancouver, BC (YVR) office.

A Day In The Life

  • Collect and analyze operational data related to aircraft, passenger, and baggage flow to assess airport performance against service level targets.
  • Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements across all airport processes and systems, including safety.
  • Use predictive analytics to anticipate delays and mitigate disruptions, ensuring proactive operational adjustments.
  • Analyze data on check-in processing, boarding times, and delays to identify trends and develop solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and on-time performance.
  • Develop automated reporting tools to support real-time decision-making and improve operational responsiveness.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for operational failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support the development and execution of operational strategies to optimize airport efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address operational challenges and improve overall performance.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Collect data and considerations to conduct cost-benefit analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To The Role

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of respect, honesty, accountability, and efficiency while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in airport operations, operational analytics, or a related field.
    • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and process improvement within an aviation environment is preferred.
    • Experience developing frameworks required to establish actionable KPIs is an asset.
    • Familiarity with predictive analytics and data-driven decision-making in an operational setting.
    • Experience working with operational performance metrics related to customer flow, baggage handling, and aircraft turnaround times.
    • Exposure to airport regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Innate ability to listen, learn and grow skills and competencies with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex operational data.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail when managing large sets of data.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly to stakeholders.
    • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to dynamic operational challenges.
    • Critical thinking skills to develop and implement actionable solutions to operational issues.
  • Requirements:
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
