Explore your next role:
As a key member of the Structures team, the Technician will report to the Supervisor, Structures, and will be responsible for sheet metal and minor composite repairs, refinishing, painting, and minor machining on our CRJ and DH8 fleet.
Your responsibilities:
- Restore or repair defects using unique aircraft fastening hardware, composite materials, chemicals, adhesives, paints, and textiles.
- Manufacture aircraft equipment, components, or replacement parts from base metals using special cutting tools and machines.
- Fabricate and repair aircraft structures using metal, composite, fiberglass, textiles, leather, plastic, and synthetic components.
- Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, and procedures.
- Inspect aircraft structural components and zones to identify problems and adjust/repair the defects according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and established procedures.
- Actively participate in Voyageur’s safety culture, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations through our Safety Management System, and understand and comply with and promote the company’s safety culture.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- A college diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Category S) program from a Transport Canada approved educational facility.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months of structural repair experience in the aviation industry.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and successfully complete the company screening process.
- Previous mechanical work experience is an asset.
- Work effectively in both individual and team environments.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical personality.
- Good working knowledge with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
Previous experience is an asset; however, we encourage all individuals to apply with previous transferable skills such as aircraft maintenance, aviation, aircraft mechanic, aerospace, aircraft technician, and structures.
