Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural/mechanical design and illustration of installations, modifications and components under supervision;
- Understand and comply with hardware interface documentation including pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Propose technical strategies for integration and manufacture;
- Preparation of technical documentation supporting the approval of aircraft modifications, including engineering analysis/substantiation (Structural, Aerodynamic, Crashworthiness), and engineering drawings;
- Determine in-service documentation requirements. Assemble technical data, prepare and contract for technical publications to support the release to service of design changes;
- Project Management including estimation (cost, schedule) for integration of aircraft modifications;
- Manage technical data (track changes, manage revision status, archive effectively);
- Liaise with installation and aircraft production teams/modification lines to ensure correct information is used and understood;
- Liaise with flight line maintenance to resolve in-service structural issues. Answer Requests for Engineering Services;
- Support configuration management in collaboration with Top Aces Fleet Managers;
- Perform other related duties as required;
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
- Three (3) years related experience in design in the aerospace industry (military or commercial) including knowledge of manufacturing processes;
- Experience in preparing, reading and using engineering drawings;
- TBC-9 (Boeing) Structures Repair for Airline Engineers Course, an asset;
- Experience with Fighter aircraft, an asset;
- Experience with External Stores carriage, an asset;
- Knowledge of aircraft design rules and standards;
- Fluent with the Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of SharePoint, an asset;
- Fluent AutoCAD user;
- SolidWorks fluency is highly desirable;
- FEM, CFD competencies are highly desirable;
- Possess effective interpersonal communication skills;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines;
- Fluent written and oral communications skills in English;
- Professional proficiency in French, an asset;
