As our new Air Quality Scientist / Engineer, you will play an important role with our current teams working on regulatory, emissions quantification, and reporting projects across the province of Ontario.
Role
Working closely with senior team members, you will prepare environmental permitting reports, emissions monitoring compliance and standards, and air dispersion modelling. You will also work on the preparation of field notes and environmental summary reports for work conducted across Ontario and other provinces as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct air dispersion modelling and analyze air monitoring data
- Work independently in performing analyses, interpretations, and conclusions
- Preparing and writing a variety of environmental reports such as impact assessments, air quality assessments, emissions quantification and inventory reports
- Planning, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget, all as part of project financial management
- Supporting / managing sampling at air quality monitoring stations
- Perform analyses and reporting for indoor industrial hygiene assessments
- Follow established health and safety policies

- The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 per year. Final agreed-upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications / Education / Memberships :
- 7+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry, ideally in air quality
- Previous experience with air quality assessments, air dispersion models (AERMOD and CALPUFF), emissions inventory, emissions quantification, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of provincial and federal air quality and emissions regulations, standards and objectives
- Understanding of greenhouse gas emissions quantifications and mitigation strategies would be considered an asset
- Experience with ambient air quality monitoring programs would be considered an asset
- 7+ years of experience with report writing, data analysis and strong MS Excel skills
- Familiar with project management concepts, tools, and controls
- Work well independently including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions / resources
- Exposure to other environmental consulting services (hydrogeology, contaminated sites, risk assessment) is an asset
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related studies
- Valid driver’s license required for travel to job sites / clients
