Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Mississauga site is looking for a new Operational Care Specialist to join our Air Logistics team.

Your Role

As Operational Care Specialist, you are responsible for planning, preparing, and processing operational tasks with high standards and consistency of accuracy and attention to detail. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure carrier selection, routing, transit time, and temperature requirements are managed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Communicate and negotiate with airlines, truckers, warehouses, Kuehne+Nagel suppliers, and colleagues across Canada to provide solutions in case of any discrepancies, holds, or delays in the movement of goods.
  • Ensure neutrality and high operational quality across all Canadian branches, managing high export volumes and all Air Logistics Products.
  • Comply with and follow Air 2.0 AE Methodology and Procedures.
  • Follow Operations policies, procedures, SOP, and ensure compliance with transport regulations.
  • Negotiate buying rates with airlines, truckers, and other service providers for cost management to maximize profit on shipment file level.
  • Ensure Airfreight operating cost/buying rate is uploaded in the file in Airlog operating system with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Liaise with OCC supervisor and manager for operational issues.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, capability in effective prioritization, and shipment execution with high efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Anticipate, identify, and rectify any exceptions and take proactive actions to recover issues.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or similar field.
  • 3+ years of Air Logistics Imports and Freight Forwarding experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel).
  • Knowledge of temperature-controlled pharmaceutical products is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and Air transportation regulations is a must.
  • CIFFA certificate is preferred.
