We currently have an opening for an Agricultural Ecologist to join our team in Vernon.
You have a scientific background in soils and ecology and the ability to support a growing environmental team in the Vernon office. The position involves program design and implementation, project management, and client and business development. You will tackle a wide variety of environmental work primarily on local and regional infrastructure engineering projects through all project phases, including occasional travel and remote work.

Responsibilities include the following:
Designing and overseeing studies and coordinating field surveys.
Managing complex multi-disciplinary projects including their budgets and liaising with clients, colleagues and contractors.
Preparing and reviewing high quality technical reports and workplans for technical programs and writing winning proposals.
Leading municipal, provincial and federal regulatory processes, including ALC processes.
Developing and managing relationships with industry, government and Indigenous clients.
Contributing to the growth and scientific development of the company.
Contributing to business development, including leading and assisting in proposal preparation, client contacts, and meetings.
Training and mentoring junior agrologists and other staff.
Job Requirements
What you will bring:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Agriculture or Forestry.
Professional registration (P.Ag., R.P.Bio.).
Adaptability to a wide variety of work types and project sizes.
Leadership and mentoring skills.
Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
7+ years of experience in agricultural assessments, soils and environmental consulting.
Experience managing project tasks, budgets, and schedules to provide deliverables to clients.
Experience writing winning cost proposals and workplans.
Practical experience as a QP in soils, agriculture capability assessments, riparian and crop interfaces, soil amendments, and ALC applications.
Experience in study design, field assessment, statistical analysis and interpretation.
Valid driver’s licence.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
