As our Scrum Master / Data Analyst, you will play a vital dual role in facilitating our Agile development processes and providing data-driven insights to track and analyze project performance. You will be responsible for managing projects using both Agile (Scrum) and Kanban methodologies, leveraging the Atlassian suite, while also developing reports and performing basic data queries to support decision-making. This position requires a blend of strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills. You’ll play a pivotal role in optimizing our workflows and contributing to our company growth. What You’ll Do

  • Expertly manage project backlogs, boards, sprints, and workflows within Atlassian Jira.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure successful implementation and feature delivery.
  • Develop a clear vision for the product that aligns with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Collect feedback from customers and internal users to understand their experiences and needs.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and status.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for Scrum teams.
  • Manage and optimize workflows for teams utilizing Kanban methodologies.
  • Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Identify, track, and help remove impediments or blockers to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Utilize Atlassian Confluence effectively for project documentation, meeting notes, and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret project tracking reports (e.g., velocity charts, burn-down/up charts, cumulative flow diagrams, cycle time).
  • Analyze project and team performance data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and areas for process improvement.
  • Write basic SQL queries against relational databases (e.g., MySQL) to extract and prepare data needed for reporting and analysis.
  • Maintain awareness of development activities tracked in Bitbucket as they relate to project progress and reporting.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience working as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Owner within a software development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and building insightful reports for project tracking and performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Agile (Scrum) and Kanban methodologies.
  • High proficiency in configuring and utilizing Atlassian Jira for managing both Scrum and Kanban projects (workflows, boards, JQL, reporting).
  • Proficiency in using Atlassian Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with code repository systems like Bitbucket and their integration within the development lifecycle.
  • Basic ability to write and execute SQL queries to retrieve data from relational databases (e.g., MySQL).
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or similar Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master).
  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase).
  • Advanced SQL query writing skills or experience with data modeling.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology company.
  • Familiarity with scaling Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.
  • Experience implementing or improving Agile metrics and reporting dashboards.
