Job Overview

As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery process, guiding teams through the lifecycle of delivering high-quality products and value for our customers. You will be the key liaison between teams, stakeholders, and product owners, ensuring alignment on objectives, removing blockers, and maintaining focus on Agile delivery and continuous improvement. Your role is critical in driving collaboration, efficiency, and ensuring that delivery commitments are met while managing risks and keeping the focus on customer outcomes.

This is a very exciting time at Sycle. We are modernizing our SaaS platform, growing and providing ever-greater value to our customers. At the same time we are upleveling our Agile delivery capabilities including our systems and processes. The Agile Delivery Manager will work with stakeholders to identify gaps, advocate for new practices, coach on their implementation and strive for new ways of optimizing delivery and process. In addition, the successful candidate will manage risk, implement and monitor key metrics as they lead our Agile evolution. The successful candidate will also lead by example, initially transforming one team and then rolling out best-practices across other teams.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to stakeholder management and communication, risk management and team culture, these are the key focus areas for the role.

Agile Delivery Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Agile teams, ensuring they follow Agile principles, practices, and ceremonies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Facilitate critical Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews, ensuring that they add value and maintain team engagement and motivation.
  • Help teams break down complex requirements and prioritize tasks to maintain a steady pace of delivery.
  • Empower teams to self-organize, foster cross-functional collaboration, and build a sense of ownership for outcomes.
Delivery And Process Optimization
  • Oversee the delivery process across multiple teams, from sprint planning through to post-launch support, ensuring that products are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
  • Work to continuously optimize Agile processes, removing bottlenecks and driving improvements to increase delivery velocity and quality.
  • Focus on maintaining a sustainable pace of work, helping the team avoid burnout and ensuring long-term success.
People Management
  • Directly manage a team of 2 to 4 Agile Delivery Managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight to ensure alignment with Agile best practices, delivery objectives, and organizational goals.
  • Participate in annual performance reviews and compensation adjustment processes for direct reports.
Continuous Improvement And Metrics
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Lead retrospectives to identify opportunities for optimizing both team performance and Agile processes.
  • Collect and analyze key performance metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, defect rates) to inform improvements in team efficiency and quality.
  • Use data-driven insights to make recommendations for process improvements and coach teams on implementing those changes.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in Agile delivery management or a similar role, with a proven track record of leading successful Agile teams and managing the delivery of complex software projects.
  • Certifications: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMP, SAFe Agilist, or other relevant Agile certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Technical Understanding: A solid understanding of Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and hands-on experience working in Agile environments.
  • Tools: Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps).
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership, facilitation, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Communication: Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and concerns to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering value to customers while managing risks and uncertainties.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience working in large-scale Agile environments or with distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in other Agile frameworks or methodologies (e.g., Lean, XP, SAFe) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with technical debt management and ensuring high-quality code is maintained throughout the delivery process.
