SUMMARY
Bartenders prepare and serve drinks to customers in lounge and restaurant. Prepare standard mixed drinks and pour wine and beer. They must be able to prepare drinks quickly, accurately, and without waste. Bartenders are responsible for taking orders directly from guests, as well as preparing drinks for servers in the dining room. Also serves food to guests seated in the bar.

The position requires an outgoing personality, positive attitude, strong communication and multitasking skills. Sound judgment and leadership skills. Has skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers and guests. All Aerie positions require a team player attitude. Must understand and comply with all departmental and company rules, regulations, policies and procedures. A fine dining Bartender must be able to handle difficulties with guests and staff alike. Bartenders need excellent memory and organization skills, ensuring that all guests receive the correct orders. He or she must be willing to learn new concepts and ideas.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands for this position include lifting heavy trays, standing for extended periods of time, and excellent hand-eye coordination. Other physical demands include being able to walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down, especially on a very busy night. Balance is also a must for any Bartender, along with the ability to multi-task several projects at once. Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50lbs at shoulder height. Must be able to bend, squat, push, and pull frequently. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment. Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations: grasping and applying new ideas. Must have good communication with various personalities at all levels and the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests and coworkers. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is located inside, with occasional loud noise levels. The temperature of the restaurant is controlled by thermostats that run the heating and cooling systems. Must be able to work 3-6 days a week including ALL holidays, nights, weekends and Sunday mornings.
COMMENTS
