This position is available within Laurentian Bank in the Western Monteregie region.

As part of our future talent program, we are seeking a Personal Banking Advisor to join our team and help prepare the next generation of permanent advisors within our financial institution. This role is part of a cohort dedicated to next generation advisors, featuring integration, mentorship, and comprehensive training to ensure a smooth transition into a permanent position in the assigned region. As soon as an opportunity arises in your area, you will be ready to take on a client portfolio (individuals) that you can develop and retain.

With a tailored advisory approach, you will become a trusted partner to your clients, offering quality financial solutions and supporting them in their life projects.

In this role, you will work in various branches within your assigned region/community. As a result, you must be willing to travel as needed to support the team.

Responsibilities
Client:
  • Act as an expert for your clients regarding the products and services offered by consistently providing sound advice.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by developing financial strategies tailored to your clients’ profiles to meet and exceed their expectations and build loyalty.
  • Meet with clients to help them identify and prioritize their financial projects and goals.
  • Recommend products and services that align with clients’ transactional needs.
  • Analyze and assess clients’ financing and investment needs based on their financial situation.
  • Maintain and seek continuous business relationships with your portfolio clients and potential clients.
  • Resolve client issues accurately and efficiently, escalating them when necessary.
  • Foster client loyalty through a customer-centric approach.
  • Ensure prepared documentation is accurate and correctly reflects the client's intentions, in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Enhance clients' trust in the Bank.

Team:

  • Collaborate on the development and execution of the Bank's business plan according to established objectives.
  • Act as a client ambassador for the Bank.
  • Help maintain the professional and welcoming appearance of the branch’s common areas.
  • Ensure all client files meet compliance requirements.
  • Perform any other duties required by the role or requested by the manager.

Knowledge:

  • Complete the necessary training to stay up-to-date on the Bank's products/services, applicable compliance and regulatory rules, as well as industry and competitor developments.
  • Stay informed about updates in taxation, products, regulations, and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or undergraduate degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in banking, finance, or customer service/sales (an asset)
  • All combinations of experience and education will also be considered, as we are open to candidates who are new to the financial sector.
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Customer service orientation, empathy, and the ability to build trust-based relationships with clients
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to different work environments
  • Bilingual*
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.

Assets:
  • Knowledge of economics, business, and market trends
  • Holder of a Mutual Fund Representative license / Representative in Collective Savings / Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) certification
  • Knowledge of financial products and services
