Job Description

Role Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, the Advisor, Learning and Development will support the execution of strategic initiatives for the Learning and Development Team. The Advisor will handle project tasks, use data analytics to inform decisions, and interact with stakeholders to improve learning outcomes. The role requires experience in data collection and analysis and supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of digital and in-person learning programs.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

  1. Learning Program Support: Accountable for managing a range of assignments that represent either a work stream or a stand-alone component of work. Drives components of small projects or initiatives, producing discrete pieces of work with key stakeholders. This includes revising established project plans, tracking budgets and timelines, and communicating effectively with stakeholders, raising issues as they arise.
  2. Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilizes intellectual curiosity and analytical thinking to probe to the root cause and generate insights from work. Uses data analytics tools to monitor and report on the effectiveness of L&D initiatives. Provide insights and recommendations to the Director, Leadership Development and Program Leads for continuous improvement.
  3. Technology Integration: Leverages learning technologies to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of L&D programs, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
  4. Evaluation & Feedback: Supports the implementation of robust evaluation strategies to gather feedback on L&D programs, using this data to inform future initiatives.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Develops and maintains business relationships, inspiring confidence and providing nuanced advice related to operational processes and policies. Collaborates with key stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and solicit feedback on L&D initiatives.
  6. Vendor Engagement: Establishes effective vendor relationships and produces and presents moderately complex reports within and external to the group.
  7. Change Management: Supports the implementation of change management plans related to L&D initiatives, ensuring assets related to the plan are developed and delivered.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Creates efficient workflows by mapping processes and integrating tasks and functions. Seeks out and participates in the ongoing improvement of systems, programs, processes, and workflows. Supports other areas and assists with the coordination of programs across the leadership development portfolio.
  9. Continuous Learning: Stays abreast of the latest trends and best practices in L&D to inform program development and personal professional growth.
  10. Diversity & Inclusion: Promote and support the integration of diversity and inclusion principles into L&D programs, aligning with the organization's values and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field (i.e., Human Resources, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Learning and Development).
  • Experience in reporting and process/programming management, preferably in HR, OD, learning, data/analysis in the financial or professional services industry.
  • Advanced practical experience using Microsoft products – Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint, and keen on learning new systems and applications (e.g. Tableau, Co-Pilot).
  • Experience working as an administrator in a Learning Management System (Workday experience is an asset).
  • Project Management experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen actively, probe effectively, and generate recommendations within a defined framework.
