Responsibilities:
Research and Briefing, Public Service Outreach, Monitoring and Research:
- Monitoring of policy development in areas of concern to Bombardier.
- Provide timely information and briefings.
- Conduct research on public policy issues impacting Bombardier.
- Conduct internal consultations on public policy issues of interest to the corporation.
Liaison Services:
- Keep an expanding log of key files and contacts to be updated and monitored.
- Manage Bombardier’s lobbying reporting obligations.
- Provide support for meetings and events.
Parliamentary Affairs:
- Manage relationships with Members of Parliament through briefings.
- Monitor the Canadian and Ontario Parliamentary process.
- Track and monitor relevant bills or important federal and Ontario committee hearings.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
How to Thrive in This Role? Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in public affairs or a related discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience in Parliamentary Affairs.
- Knowledge in Public Affairs or International Affairs/Trade.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French (spoken and written).
- Familiarity with senior levels of Government and related institutions.
- Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
- The ability to work within short deadlines and under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent judgement, and a good communicator.
- Flexible in terms of availability.
