This team safely & reliably manages the design and execution of projects to deliver natural gas to new communities across Ontario to effectively grow the core business; the CE projects are made feasible by a two-part funding mechanism including a volume-based surcharge from the customer and government awarded funding. The team is currently working on planning design and execution of the Bill 32 Phase 2 portfolio consisting of 25 funding awarded projects.

What You Will Do

  • Provide project management expertise and support on complex planning projects from initiation through to completion. Project management responsibilities include pipeline design, creating cost estimates and ongoing financial tracking for budget accuracy, procurement, Planning and Engineering services, coordinating Leave-to-Construct applications, contractor selection, tendering, construction support and field change support.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external partners and resolving issues and challenges on a project level independently.
  • Responsible to ensure effective project development and project controls activities as required for the projects assigned including: Project Charters, Coordination meetings and Constructability Reviews, Project Compliance Records, Project Management Plan and Subsections, Project Schedules, Cost estimates and Control budgets, Feasibility Studies, Service Procurement Contracts, Construction drawings, OTC Communications, Cost Tracker/Forecasting/Weekly updates, Bench Marking and Project Close Out activities.
  • The critical importance of timeliness for project delivery, specifically the implications of late project delivery (regulatory impacts, legal impacts, brand impacts, etc.). Support project execution groups during the construction and start-up phase for additional approvals required and internal/external communications as required.
  • Screen, scope, and evaluate new communities as potential future expansion projects using established procedures and tools.
  • Understand and apply Franchise Agreements, Public Service Works on Highways Act, Band Council Resolutions, etc.
  • Conduct contingency plans and create work permits as the need arises.
  • Provide technical leadership and/or support in the monitoring, controlling, forecasting and reporting of multiple projects managed by the assigned project management teams in areas of cost control, complex logistics/scheduling, and development/continuous improvement of project control templates.
Who You Are

You have the following education and experience:

  • Related university degree and four‐plus years’ experience OR six‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Project management certificate/experience and thorough understanding of utility designs and Planning procedures and policies.
  • Four or more years’ of experience in an operations/construction, and/or engineering environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of various computer software programs including MS Excel, MS Project, Microstation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Detailed knowledge of Planning, Design & Records, Operation & Maintenance, and Construction policies and procedures.
  • In depth business, industrial and company knowledge is required to perform design analysis function effectively, recognizing impacts on capital dollars and understanding Codes, Standards and regulations is required.
  • Passion for upholding Enbridge's core values of Safety, Integrity, Respect, and Inclusion.
Following Skills Are Assets

  • P. Eng or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist or equivalent, and GPI certification.
  • Project management certificate/experience.
  • Working Knowledge with Maximo, eGIS/GIS edit, ProjectWise, planning and records.
Working Conditions

  • Some travelling (15%) is required for this role. Valid ‘G’ License & responsible driving record will be needed.
