The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Provincial Director, Academic and Community Partnerships, Interprofessional Practice & Learning (IPPL), the Administrative Assistant coordinates all administrative requirements and activities to support the ongoing delivery of quality standards, policies, processes, improvement initiatives. The Administrative Assistant coordinates all administrative requirements and activities and provides client service to the Director.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Director by effectively coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Director’s office. The position coordinates all administrative activities, establishes administrative procedures and guidelines and acts as a liaison with the executive assistants and administrative assistants within the portfolio and across the Nova Scotia Health. This position provides additional support to individuals, committees or working groups as assigned.

About You

We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

  1. Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program required
  2. Undergraduate degree is an asset
  3. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' of progressively responsible experience, providing administrative support and office coordination at the Executive level required
  4. Experience within healthcare and within an integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders is preferred
  5. International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization and organizational skills
  7. Demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies (including Microsoft Office and Outlook, SAP, data theming software)
  8. Experience utilizing technology for meeting planning to create efficiencies and streamline tracking and retrieval of information
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high degree of tact, judgment and confidentiality
  10. Excellent organizational and time management skills
  11. Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours: Permanent Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-Weekly

Compensation and Benefits: $23.78 - $29.73 hourly; $46,377 - $57,972 annually. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
