To help strengthen psychological health and safety for Nova Scotia government workers, Workplace Mental Health delivers a range of information, resources, events, supports, services and training designed to increase mental health literacy and reduce stigma.

About Our Opportunity

If you are interested in making a positive difference in the lives of employees as well as being part of a team making strides towards addressing workplace mental health using an approach focused on preventing injury and illness and promoting diverse and healthy environments, come and join us. You would be part of a team of nine, reporting to the Director of Workplace Mental Health.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Schedules and tracks meetings, creates materials and communication for participants for a variety of meetings, trainings, and events both in person and virtual.
  • Coordinates education and training sessions.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation, creates and summarizes surveys and polls, participant tracking, and organizes meeting logistics.
  • Creates, formats, produces and assembles training manuals, handouts, reference materials, presentations, e-bulletins and reports.
  • Contributes to the development of administrative process improvements.
  • Updates team information including on SharePoint and external portals.
  • Provides project tracking on initiatives.
  • Supports Intake process for Navigation Service as required.
  • Organizes and orders equipment purchases and sends invoices as required.

Qualifications and Experience

This could be the right job for you if you have the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Demonstrated high regard for quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction and/or supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills.
  • Ability to create user documents such as infographics and training manuals.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and email (i.e. Outlook) and related business applications.

Working Conditions

  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
  • May be required to work overtime on occasion.
  • Travel may be required to attend meetings and events.

Additional Information

This is a TERM opportunity with an anticipated end date of March 31, 2027. However, the position status (“term”, “temporary” or “casual”) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: EC 03

Salary Range: $1,687.11- $2,108.89 Bi-Weekly
