Interior Health is recruiting for an exciting senior medical leadership opportunity as the Senior Medical Director (SMD), Thompson Cariboo.

The Senior Medical Director (SMD) provides senior medical expertise and input into decision-making on strategic and operational matters of the Executive Medical Group. In this important role, the SMD provides leadership, direction, and support to the Chiefs of Staff, Department Heads, and Medical Directors within the Thompson Cariboo region. The SMD builds capacity for effective medical staff governance, integrated leadership, and physician engagement. One of the measures of success in the position will be how the SMD improves the quality of medical care within IH by collaborating directly with physicians, other healthcare professionals, portfolios, committees, and medical governance groups.

The SMD will support Interior Health’s commitment to eliminate anti-Indigenous racism and discrimination and continue to create a culturally safe and inclusive workplace. Working alongside IH leaders and team members, the SMD will provide support to design and deliver an equitable health care system within Interior Health.

Compensation
Compensation Type: Administrative Contract
Estimated Remuneration: Competitive – will be based on Medical Leadership experience.
