Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk (Bilingual Cantonese/Mandarin) with 1+ years of experience to manage customer accounts, ensure timely collections, and provide excellent communication with store owners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payment collection and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Regularly contact store owners to follow up on outstanding invoices and collections.
  • Reconcile the AR ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Maintain and update customer accounts in accounting software.
  • Prepare and send account statements, invoices, and payment reminders to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve payment discrepancies or customer queries.
  • Generate reports on AR status and provide updates to the finance team.
  • Assist with month-end closing and AR reconciliation processes.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and act as the point of contact for payment issues.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support the accounting team.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable or collections, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven experience in contacting salespeople or customers to collect payments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively handle difficult conversations.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics NAV, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle payment disputes professionally.

Pay: $37,500.00-$40,000.00 per year

Flexible language requirement: French not required
