Join our team as our newest Accounts Receivable Associate on our DAY SHIFT!
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Receive & check bills of lading and invoices and modify where necessary for freight, set-up charges, containers etc.
- Post invoices to G/L and process receipts against customer accounts.
- Create non-stock invoices from sales orders for tooling or miscellaneous charges.
- Investigate short receipts and debit memo. Obtain backups, issues credits and email to correct plants.
- Follow-up on overdue accounts via phone / email, involve the Sales Representative for any unresolved payments.
- Maintain paperwork pertaining to RMA’s, plant discrepancy reports and return shipments until such time as required for processing.
- Maintain Customer Master file.
- Maintain all filing on a daily basis (bills of lading, deposits, invoices etc.)
- Verify all bills of lading are invoiced before closing at month end and that all deposits for the month balance G/L cash postings.
- Stamp outgoing mail, ensuring correct postage and date.
- Resetting the postage meter, maintaining a balance with postage by phone.
- Ensure all NAFTA certificates are returned on time.
- Cost account receivable by first day of new month.
- Print summary of exports for the period and email to Stats Canada.
- Process cheques to pay & payable invoices to freight and brokerage vendors.
- Obtain PFAF to verify correct changes.
- Assist Controller and VP of Finance with any special projects.
- Other duties as required.
What are we looking for?
- Post – Secondary education in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required or experience in a related field
- 1 – 3 years experience. Experience in Manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
- Solid basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Excellent communication both verbal and written
- Great organizational skills and a keen eye for attention to details
- Strong Problem-solving skills
- Payroll experience is an asset
- IVP knowledge an asset
