We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our exciting organization! This role is responsible for ensuring the company receives payments for goods and services, and transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion. As a key member of our team, you will report to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, maintaining the billing system, generating invoices and account statements, performing account reconciliations, and supporting in the production of monthly financial and management reports. You will maintain accounts receivable files and records and support the investigation and resolution of any irregularities or enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic bookkeeping functions.
  • Process accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Prepare customer invoices, holdback invoices, and project draw invoices.
  • Track warranty costs and review deferred revenue account monthly.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Complete month-end functions.
  • Build strong relationships, trust, and influence with internal and external customers, delivering on what they have agreed and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in an accounts receivable or accounting role.
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules and best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Spectrum).
  • Ability to handle high volumes of data entry with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to work.
