TERM: 1 year contract with option to extend to permanent position
JOB OPPORTUNITY:
Bell Lumber & Pole Canada has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Accounts Payable Clerk. Our company is a 115+-year-old family-owned and operated business with operations in both Canada and the United States. JOB PURPOSE:
The Accounts Payable Clerk core functions will be to provide support to the Accounts Payable department by processing invoices in a timely and accurate manner. This position can be in the office, fully remote, or a hybrid arrangement. Desired schedule is 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday-Wednesday, but hours can be flexible as long as they add up to 32 hours per week during our regular work week.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receiving, processing, and verifying invoices daily for six U.S. and Canadian companies
- Reviewing and correcting accounts payable batches daily
- Entering and reconciling credit card transactions
- Reviewing statements and following up on discrepancies or missing invoices
- Responding to inquiries relating to overdue or outstanding invoices
- Reconciling subledgers to general ledger monthly
- Pulling cheque runs for printing cheques and EFTs
- Providing support to the accounting team during month end, quarter end, year end
- Providing various backup information to support transactions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience/Abilities/Requirements:
- Proven accounts payable experience
- Ergonomically safe home working environment
- High-speed and stable home internet connection
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Requires a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work in harmony with co-workers
- Understanding of confidentiality
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 is an asset
Working Environment/Physical Demands:
- Remote position (computer and monitor to be provided)
- Office work in front of a computer
LOCATION:
- Option to work fully remote, work from the Vernon office, or do a hybrid (combination of remote and in-office)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$23.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
