Accounting Technician

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including data entry and journal entries.
  2. Prepare and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  3. Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems for financial and administrative records.
  4. Process intercompany transactions including invoices, payments, and reimbursements in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
  5. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial statements and reports.
  6. Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
  9. Serve as the primary point of contact for Finance-related inquiries, both internally and externally.
  10. Assist in the preparation of reports and other documents for management.

Employment Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Completion of secondary school.
  2. Diploma or certificate in finance, accounting, or business administration, or a combination of relevant courses or at least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a hospitality or hotel environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

  3. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  4. Knowledge of hotel industry-specific accounting practices is a plus.
