Accounting Technician

Introduction

EBT Chartered Professional Accountants is seeking multiple full-time Accounting Technicians at their office located in Medicine Hat, AB.

Position Overview

Responsibilities:

• Prepare Compilation Engagement Reports for owner-managed businesses.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Occasional bookkeeping including bank account reconciliation, accounts receivable and accounts payable, payroll calculations, WCB, GST reporting, preparation of T4’s and other bookkeeping duties.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Task prioritization and organization – ability to manage multiple deadlines, determine priority and get tasks completed.
• Self-starter – ability to identify areas of improvement and do the work.
• Strong client relations skills.
• Self-confidence/maturity.
• The ability to use Caseware, Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, Taxprep, Microsoft Office – Excel and Word and quickly learn additional software programs is essential.

Education and Experience:

• Accounting Technician experience in a Canadian public accounting practice considered an asset.
• Bachelor's degree, Business College, or Business Administration Diploma with Accounting major is preferred.
• Willing to train the right candidates.
