Accounting Manager

Summary
This full-time, permanent position is responsible for overseeing key financial processes, reporting, and system improvements. This role will include financial reporting and analysis, month-end procedures, and ERP system optimization.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, process improvement skills from development to implementation, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive efficiency and accuracy.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the following:
1. Finance
- Develop, implement and manage month-end procedures for all accounts.
- Review general ledger details, working with team members to reconcile and understand transactions, implementing processes to automate and simplify.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and work-in-progress (WIP) analysis.
- Collaborate with company departments and act as a business partner and liaison for the finance team to ensure two-way communication of financial information.
- Lead the preparation of budgets and financial reforecasts and development and maintenance of financial KPIs.
- Manage financial data related to assigned projects through percentage completion methodology.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations and design accounting policy for the group as necessary.
- Manage data flow of financial information within ERP system.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as necessary.
2. Analytics
- Work with ERP systems and external partners to enhance financial data availability.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Cherubini’s financial systems and continuously improve processes.
- Prepare combined financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Leadership
- Provide support and management to accounting departments across the other companies in the Cherubini Group as needed.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance financial operations across the group of companies.
- Mentor and support team members in financial best practices and system improvements / optimization.
Requirements
- Strong background in finance, accounting, auditing, or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems (Syspro / Sage).
- Full-cycle accounting experience considered an asset.
- Proven ability in process improvement and automation.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and data analysis.
- Experience in project accounting.
- CPA designation (or CPA track) considered an asset.
