The Country Grocer Warehouse, known as Island Independent Buying Group (IIBG), is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This position is full-time, working from our Chemainus, BC warehouse on a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.
As Accounting Clerk, your job encompasses some of the following:
- Responsible for processing of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable invoices
- Ensure invoices are authorized, mathematically correct, pricing is verified and purchases are reconciled
- Accurately execute data entry with attention to detail in a timely manner to ensure compliance with established deadlines
- Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes
- Establish and maintain required vendor & project files
- Carry out other accounting related tasks & provide administrative support as required
Additionally, we’d like to see these things in you:
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other common software
- You have high standards when it comes to details and problem solving
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You can work independently but also enjoy team collaboration
Experience and Education:
- Post-secondary education in accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
- Grocery or warehouse experience would be considered an asset
