Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with various accounting tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Record accounting transactions.
  • Enter supplier and customer invoices.
  • Maintain the ledgers.
  • Perform journal entries.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections.
  • Track payments and receipts.
  • Follow up with customers for overdue invoices.
  • Prepare payments to suppliers.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning.
  • Utilize accounting software for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Perform bank reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Handle accounts payable by processing invoices and managing vendor payments.
  • Manage financial documents: file and archive accounting documents while maintaining the integrity of financial data.
  • Execute account reconciliation tasks to maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Review accounts to detect anomalies or irregularities.

Skills

  • Proficiency in payroll processing and understanding of payroll regulations.
  • Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Strong budgeting skills with an analytical mindset for financial planning.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Sage or similar platforms.
  • Ability to perform account analysis and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliation processes for accurate financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills essential for maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within the finance team.
  • Bilingual: French and English.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50-$22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
