Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. Additionally, this role involves providing administrative assistance to accountants and preparing statements that confirm the accuracy of database information.This position requires attention to detail, and proficiency in various accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
- Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements.
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
- Enter key data of financial transactions daily into the database.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Constantly update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
Qualifications:
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- University/College graduate from Accounting or similar program.
