Accounting Clerk
Lethbridge & District Exhibition Park
Reports to: Finance Manager
Direct reports: CEO
Indirect Reports: N/A
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk will take on various administrative tasks for the Finance department at LDE including maintaining financial records, bookkeeping, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in the database
- Record transactions in billing, purchasing, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable
- Posting payments, updating, and billing clients on a weekly and monthly basis
- Prepare all invoices for payment
- Assist in maintaining financial records
- Investigate and resolve all inquiries with billing and invoicing
- Maintain vendors’ financial information and files
- Assist in posting journal entries into the accounting software
- Assist in preparing a variety of forms, correspondence, inter-department memos for management and departmental support
- Log Purchase Orders
- Generate invoices and maintain files
- Assist in preparing various financial reports for senior leadership
- Prepare and distribute cheque runs
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Perform other duties as required
Work undefined hours – some Signature events during the year will require extended hours. Standard office environment for the majority of the time. Ability to be physically mobile for extended periods of time during events - freedom of movement, walking, lifting of boxes and standing is required.
Education and Experience:
- Accounting Diploma from a recognized College or equal relevant experience
- Proven experience as a Finance Clerk
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial transactions
- Familiarity with financial regulations, i.e. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of MS Office and databases
- Attention to detail
- Organizational and multitasking abilities

- Ability to deal with confidential matters and use discretion
- High School Diploma
