We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO.

What will you be doing?

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for managing the day-to-day and month-to-month accounting requirements of the two properties Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport and Hampton Inn and Suites Kelowna Airport. This position has a focus on Accounts Payable and Income Audit. This person is professional, highly organized, and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate can communicate clearly and effectively to other team members, promoting cooperation and understanding in the various processes that they are involved in.

  • Complete day-to-day update of general ledger records for dual property revenues, activities
  • Maintain and implement Argus policies and procedures at the property level
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers
  • Coordinate with Night Audit in reconciling daily credit/debit card variances or disputes
  • Maintain cash float and all disbursements as appropriate and legitimate
  • Manage daily cash deposits and reconciliations, ensuring funds are deposited to the bank as scheduled
  • Coordinate with Food and Beverage team for distribution of tips, gratuities
  • Reconcile transaction posting and information flow to general ledgers
  • Maintain a reconciliation of the property receivable ledgers, clearing accounts
  • Assist, as needed, with other General Ledger account reconciliations utilizing PVNG
  • Accounts Payable (AP) invoice entry, including:
    • Invoice coding and entry to payables system
    • Circulation of invoices to appropriate signatories
    • Image attachment to the payables system
    • Submission of batches to the Controller for review and approval
  • Liaise with other departments/customers/vendors on behalf of the Hospitality accounting
  • Assist Accounts Receivable general accountant with voucher reconciliation and invoice compilation
  • Any other duties assigned by Property Controller

What are we looking for?

  • A degree or diploma in accounting or finance
  • Previous experience in hospitality accounting and Property Management Systems (PMS)
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and records
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications; Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to meet deadlines and cut-offs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Accuracy through repetitive tasks or similar looking information
  • Efficient time management through intersecting demands
  • Exceptional administration and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction
