About the role:

The Accounting Clerk is an essential part of the accounting team, reporting to the finance manager and CFO. The role will assist with accounts payable while collaborating with the accounting and procurement team. This role will participate in the life cycle of cost accounting. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to manage ongoing responsibilities with multiple projects at a given time. Software training will be provided.

1. Previous accounts payable experience.
2. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and cloud-based software systems.

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Maintaining vendor and cash accounts.
2. Working within billing systems.
3. Project-based cost accounting.
4. Assisting with vendor invoices, statements, and payment processes.
5. Reconciliation and review as required.
6. Working within the finance team in a collaborative approach.
7. Attend training sessions to learn industry trends, opportunities, and financial software.

Preference Given to Applicants With:

1. Experience in accounting within the construction industry.
2. A college diploma or university degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
3. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced project-based work environment.

Other:

1. 3-month probation period.
2. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
3. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
4. This is not a remote position; candidates will be required to report daily to the office in Cumberland.
