We are looking for an enthusiastic, sincere, and authentic individual, who is passionate about hospitality in a country club setting. The incumbent reports to the Director of Finance (DOF) and is responsible for the administration and accuracy of the day-to-day tasks associated with payroll and benefits functions and the accounts payable function. This individual also supports the DOF with tasks affecting the Club's financial operations, accounting, and control functions. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to ensure best accounting and payroll practices are exercised.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Accountant - Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrator:
Payroll and Benefits:
Submit bi-weekly distribution emails to management staff to review and follow-up on timecards promptly and accurately.
Manage electronic timekeeping system and review timesheets periodically.
Provide information and answer employee queries about payroll-related matters and resolve payroll errors.
Process and submit bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for direct deposit including issuing checks for payments to vendors.
Maintain and file payroll records and documentation necessary to substantiate and record all payroll-related activities.
Submit RRSP plan contributions.
Administer the employee healthcare benefits program accurately, based on the RCC benefits policy and procedures.
Comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Accounts Payable:
Process invoices and payments on a timely basis, reconciling supplier accounts and responding to payment inquiries as needed.
Issue cheques weekly and attach check stubs to purchase requests and backup paperwork.
Review monthly statements provided by vendors to ensure all invoices have been paid in a timely manner.
Reconcile the monthly Visa statement and provide monthly journal entries on a timely basis.
PST/GST remittance- monthly reconciliation and submission.
General Accounting:
Perform month-end close and year-end close activities such as account reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and various working papers.
Knowledge and Experience:
Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration and three years of Accounting and Payroll experience is ideal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs.
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail is crucial for this role.
Minimum of 3+ years in a role with financial accountability is required.

Work Environment:
On-site at RCC, 9100 Steveston Highway, Richmond, BC.
40-hour work week, Mondays to Fridays.
