YOUR ROLE
You will be responsible for producing all transactions related to the end-of-month accounting processes, analyzing data, and actively participating in improving the accounting processes of your team.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the head accountant of the team responsible for the accounting of maritime mills operations, your position consists of:
- Performing the accounting of the various mills concerned;
- Preparing monthly variance explanations;
- Being directly involved in inventory variation analyses;
- Presenting and explaining the monthly results to your superior and making corrections as needed;
- Respecting deadlines and the schedule for monthly and annual accounting closure;
- Participating in various ad-hoc analyses in support of your sector or at the request of your supervisor to support any other initiative;
- Participation in the budgetary, quarterly and year-end process;
- Establishing a link with operations to deepen your analyses and ensure a coherent discourse in explaining the results with the reality of the sector;
- Participation in customer billing;
- Participation in the management of supplier requests;
- Participation in the maintenance of the commercial information of the accounting system.
YOUR ASSETS
- You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting sciences;
- You have a CPA title, an asset;
- You have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting;
- You are proficient in MS Office Suite tools (especially Excel);
- Your knowledge of an enterprise management system, such as Microsoft Navision, Millswork or Longview, an asset;
- You have a very good command of English;
- Due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national customers, bilingualism in French and English is required for this position (mandatory);
- You are recognized for your resourcefulness, team spirit and adaptability.
