Regional Manager, Indigenous Banking

Department Overview:

TD Indigenous Banking Group provides financial solutions that meet the needs of Indigenous Peoples, businesses, and communities. The Indigenous Banking team works closely with all our internal partners to provide a comprehensive approach to serving clients from the Indigenous community. Offering a broad range of products and services allows us to meet the needs of our clients in every sector, providing customized solutions to build a strategy that's right for them now and in the future.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Senior Regional Manager and AVP to deliver the Indigenous Banking Strategy.
  • Provide support/leadership in areas including, but not limited to, Indigenous Banking Strategy, credit risk, business analysis, reporting, and special projects.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team on the management of the portfolio, with deep industry knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying opportunities with other business management/enterprise areas.
  • Participate in various working committees to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain active and cooperative relationships with key internal and external business partners.
  • Provide support/leadership/coaching to Business Banking partners and regional managers with a focus to increase knowledge, confidence, and awareness of Indigenous Peoples and banking.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Commercial Credit with solid understanding of commercial lending guidelines/practices.
  • Individual must currently have lending limits and be actively involved in the lending process or have had a lender with limits in the past 2-3 years.
  • Proficient with MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Subject Matter Expert - industry and community involvement.
  • Strong business knowledge in order to collaborate across the Enterprise and focus on delivering customer service excellence.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence.
  • Demonstrate unwavering integrity and authenticity.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), negotiation and partnering skill set that includes well-developed listening and negotiation skills to balance stakeholder input while remaining objective to reach the right outcome.
  • High degree of organizational awareness and sensitivity with demonstrated ability to manage relationships with business partners and stakeholders at various levels, including senior executives.
  • Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities, as well as demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and easily to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the big picture and its implications.

Additional Information:
  • Business degree/diploma preferred.
  • Experience within Commercial Banking and/or Risk Management preferred.
  • Candidate from the Indigenous community preferred.
