Business Growth and Functional
Develop a market area business plan and sales strategy, in conjunction with the Sales Manager North America which complies with Normet's long term strategic objectives and goals.
Conduct analyses of the market, customers, competition, latest trends, challenges, and product developments to identify sales and new product opportunities.
Thorough understanding of solutions approach and value-added selling practices; account management.
Develop and initiate plans for penetrating new markets.
Build and maintain quality relations with existing assigned accounts.
Develop new customer accounts, building relationships with staff at all levels, including upper management, technical staff, purchasing and account payable personnel.
Cultivate effective business relationships with executive decision makers in key accounts.
Utilize company generated leads to expand current customer base and penetrate new market areas.
Develop maximum sales potential within assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of Normet's products and services.
Have a thorough understanding of the competition's strengths and weaknesses.
Coordinate with Sales Area Manager on price levels and discounting offered to individual customers.
Actively maintain a customer database to include key contact personnel, mine and project managers, maintenance supervisors and engineering.
Promotion and sale of training opportunities including operator simulator training, SmartScan and SmartSpray.
Develop Account Development Plans to determine which Normet products are a fit for specific customer and project applications, define the account management process and track performance.
Periodically visit all assigned key customers to observe operation, and obtain feedback on Normet EQ, GCCT, Aliva/X-Rock and Service performance, needs and issues.
Provide customer feedback, needs, suggestions and complaints on EQ, GCCT, Aliva/X-Rock and Service to appropriate manager and Sales or Service Coordinator.
Create customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner.
Maintain accurate, updated records of all quotations, sales, and activity reports for all accounts.
Stays updated on all market conditions pertaining to products, product updates, service offerings and innovative technologies through available resources.
Professionally represent Normet at trade association meetings to promote our products and services.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes of Normet.
Perform other related duties as assigned by managers.
Financials
Assist with forecasting & budget preparation aligned with expected growth and actual order intake, against historical spend.
Control expenses to meet budget guidelines and submit them in a timely fashion.
Facilitate transactions between customer’s accounting department and Normet's Finance Department to resolve any invoicing issues or past-due invoices.
Stakeholder Management
Customer focused to positively support the growth of Normet.
Customers include both internal and external stakeholders, ability to conduct work in a professional manner.
Interacts with capital equipment team, ensuring proper collaboration and account management development.
Develop and collect market knowledge. Identify and review competition sources and to relay this information to the Normet Sales and Service Teams.
HSEQ – Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Complies with all Normet policies with HSEQ and ensures compliance with team members.
Active participant in ensuring Normet operations and products supporting HSEQ initiatives.
Provide support for risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and responsible for reporting/improvements where needed.
Ability to support the creation and updating of HSEQ documentation where applicable.
Personal Responsibility
Ensures compliance to Normet Values, & Normet Policies and Procedures.
Continuous improvement journey with behaviors supporting improved product knowledge, learning and development, and competency training.
Stays current with industry developments, competitive offerings and issues affecting sales and customers.
Retain existing industry certifications, and where applicable acquire updates and advancement.
Active contributor and team member in both the sales and service teams, North America.
Qualifications And Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining and equipment sales.
Capacity to operate in a demanding environment with competing priorities.
Willing to travel up to 75% within North America.

Additional Information
At times, the role will be required to undertake tasks outside of this position description. Taking into consideration the relevant skills and experience at the request of the reporting manager.
