ChangeMakers’ Data Intelligence team focuses on building stronger and more resilient organizations through data-backed programs that identify, measure, and manage drivers of reputation. Key to this effort is ChangeMakers’ proprietary Reputation Score, a dynamic and fast-growing tool that equips brands and executives to monitor and manage reputation.

Our Account Manager, Data Intelligence will analyze, report, and advise on public relations risks and opportunities in the context of our US-based reputation management clients, crisis engagements, and clients leveraging the Reputation Score.

About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Data Intelligence, this role requires strategic thinking, the ability to learn quickly, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This team member must have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to analyze large pools of communications data, keen attention to detail, good judgment, presentation skills, and problem-solving skills. They must have enthusiasm, flexibility, and initiative to develop and refine reputation reporting techniques and products that are evolving in scope. They will cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues and consistently display the ability to write strong media reports and public relations materials.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Advise clients on key developments in the social and traditional media landscapes, creating insightful, data-driven issues reports to inform public relations strategies.
  • Develop quality written client reporting under time constraints and often without advance notice in crisis situations.
  • Support reputational issues management with a focus on crisis communications and risk; support the team in developing and implementing crisis communications plans.
  • Contextualize and innovate on Reputation Score analytics and presentations to measure performance of public relations initiatives, capture reputational risk and stability, and guide strategic communications.
  • Guide Reputation Score product development, bringing together strong knowledge of reputation management client needs with an understanding of technical capabilities and constraints.
  • Translate a wide range of public relations needs to data analytics and visualizations, including by writing scripts in Python and developing R Shiny interfaces; communicate technical methods and results to nontechnical stakeholders in service of reputation management goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across our Data Intelligence team and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for someone with:

  • 1-3 years of strategic communications or public relations experience, with emphasis on crisis and risk management.
  • Public relations agency full-time or internship experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong interest in reputation, crisis and risk management, with an excellent understanding of current media landscapes.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, including programming skills in Python and R and experience developing R Shiny interfaces; comfort and ingenuity applying these skills in a public relations and crisis communications context.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, with creativity, resilience, and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and execute projects in a fast-paced environment with high performance standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
