YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

Account Managers are responsible for managing theoverall sales efforts in their assigned territory to maximize sales and profit.They must utilize frequent face-to-face and/or telephone contact in aconsultative sales approach to ensure the satisfaction of customer needs. Theymust identify selling opportunities and assertively act upon the opportunitiesthat offer maximum potential and/or gross profit - both with existing customersthrough cross- and range-selling as well as with new leads. They must upholdBrenntag’s core values and focus on customer excellence in all regards everyday.

Job Description:

Customer Business Development (70%)

  • Meetsales objectives and focus on customer retention as well as improvingoverall customer satisfaction (also through digital channels).
  • Identifycustomer potentials, i.e., opportunities for cross- and range-selling toexisting customers and engage relevant stakeholders (e.g., BrenntagSpecialties sales staff).
  • Setstrategies and targets for growth of customers in assigned territory(sales plan); align with Sales Manager.
  • Frequentlyconduct customer visits and prepare the meetings using all available toolsand reports, coordinate, negotiate and close proposals.
  • Managespot business/ rush offers, get support from Commercial Assistant whennecessary.
  • Liaisewith relevant stakeholders to create in a timely manner the best solutionfor the customer and extract maximum value (e.g., Sales Management/Product Management for Pricing topics).
  • Actas major point of contact to customers in assigned territory in allcommercial matters.
  • Conductmarket studies on potential new product opportunities by contactingcustomers to gather interest and test market demand.
  • LeverageBrenntag Connect to generate and maximize sales.

New Customer Generation (10%)

  • Spotopportunities for launching sales projects in cooperation with otherdepartments like Product Management.
  • Identifyand prioritize prospective customers.
  • Getin contact with prospects and involve relevant stakeholders to nurtureleads down the pipeline.
  • Liaisewith Brenntag Specialties sales staff on customers with new BrenntagEssentials business opportunities.
  • Setand maximize prices considering value-based pricing and customersegmentation within guidelines provided by Product Management.
  • Ensureappropriate data administration and documentation of all business cases inthe local CRM system (e.g., post processing of visits, creation ofcustomer projects).
  • Updateand maintain customer opportunity pipelines and potentials in the CRMsystem
  • Completesales and revenue-related reporting.
  • Drivecommercial and functional excellence based on guidance/ input fromCommercial Excellence Function.
  • Provideregular forecasts of product demand from customers to Product Managementto optimize projected demand requirements.

Know-How Management (5% to-be)

  • Maintainan up-to-date level of product knowledge, e.g., via training.
  • Keepup to date with changes and updates in the product portfolio and in themarket.
  • Keepup to date on feedstock and upstream developments that impact productprice movements.

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience: 

  • Post-Secondary Education with a focus in Business, Science or equivalent.
  • Experiencein the chemical distribution business, preferably in a sales capacity (3to 5 years previous experience in sales role).
  • Soundcomputer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRMsystems
  • Superiorcommunication and negotiation skills
  • Highself-management capabilities
  • Customer-centricmindset, focusing on creating a positive experience for the customer
  • Basiclevel of strategic thinking (business development, opportunities)
  • Travel required as per business needs
  • Validdriver’s license with clean driving record
