The Position:
We have an opening for an Account Executive II to join our Commercial Insurance team working from one of our Western region offices. Individuals in this role are responsible for all sales and service of an assigned book of business; develop and maintain a prospect list through direct solicitation. They are accountable for decisions made on all aspects of prospecting, as well as selling and servicing clients as per performance standards. They may also advise clients on claims or loss settlements.
What you will be doing:
- Develops and maintains a prospect list through direct solicitation; contacts prospects regularly; conducts regular meetings with clients, maintains client relationships, and visits client sites as required.
- Reviews and analyzes existing commercial accounts to identify inadequately protected exposures; contacts commercial accounts prior to the renewal and recommends necessary or desirable changes in coverage.
- Obtains all information required for a complete submission and prepares a proposal; ensures all information is collected and documented for proper client servicing.
- Responsible for all Account Receivable activities, prepares proposals at renewal, arranges for account replacements, and collects premiums or down payment as per BrokerLink guidelines.
- Develops and maintains a positive, cooperative, professional image with clients and colleagues.
- Keeps abreast of markets, products and pricing issues, and shares information with BrokerLink.
- Coordinates with and advises the Account Manager on claims or loss settlements and assists clients in documenting claims.
- Participates in BrokerLink sales initiatives and contributes to the effectiveness of the department.

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and deadlines.
- Able to work both individually and in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; multi-tasking.
- Post-Secondary Education or equivalent.
- 5-7+ years Industry, Sales and Customer Service experience.
- RIBO/AIC Level 1 and 2.
- Commitment to continual learning: CIP, CAIB 1 & 2, CAIB 3 & 4 or working towards completion.
- Experience with: Office Suite; TAM; CompuQuote, SAVERS, Policy Works.
