Job description
Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for an Academic Conference Coordinator Assistant.

About the team:

The Technology Planning and Cooperation Department promotes strategic innovation across all of Huawei Canada. Working with fellow experts, the focus is researching new and upcoming areas of technology as well as strategic planning to help achieve the long-term vision of Huawei. This department offers a unique opportunity to leverage both technical and business skills.


About the job:
  1. Assist the Conference Operations Manager in developing and implementing conference participation strategies.
  2. Manage conference logistics, including registration, travel arrangements, and accommodation for team members.
  3. Maintain and update the conference calendar and deadline tracking system.
  4. Coordinate booth setup and assist with workshop arrangements.
  5. Organize post-conference documentation and manage the conference proceedings database.
  6. Schedule and coordinate internal team meetings and research presentations.
  7. Perform administrative tasks, including correspondence, filing, and document organization.
  8. Provide on-site support during conference events as needed.

About the ideal candidate:
  1. Minimum of 1 year of experience in event coordination or administrative support.
  2. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  3. Prior experience in the technology industry or academic institutions.
  4. Familiarity with academic conference processes.
  5. Previous involvement in organizing or participating in academic activities (e.g., workshops, conferences) is an asset.
