Position summary
The Department of Medicine and the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute is looking for a full-time academic cardiologist with specialization in electrophysiology. The successful applicant would join a group of 46 cardiologists at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI), which is Canada’s largest heart health centre.
In addition to state-of-the-art catheterization and electrophysiology labs, the UOHI has a dedicated cardiac imaging facility and a range of inpatient services. The Division is renowned for its outstanding cardiac care and excellence in education and research.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant would join a group of nine cardiac electrophysiologists and would be expected to provide in-patient ward service, participate in out-patient clinics, work in electrophysiology labs and device clinic, and engage in teaching and research.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold the FRCPC in Internal Medicine with subsequent certification in Cardiology or equivalent, be eligible for membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and have or be eligible for licensure in Ontario. A significant academic profile with a demonstrated research track record is required.
The University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital are bilingual institutions; therefore, a bilingual candidate would be preferred in the case of equally qualified candidates.

Terms of employment
The income for this position is derived from clinical billings, salary support, and honorariums/stipends. Health and welfare benefits are offered to full-time physicians.
