About The Role
The Abilities Management Specialist is an integral member of our dynamic Occupational Health, Safety Department. You will work in compliance with the Workplace Safety Insurance Act, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Human Rights Code to support and provide integrated disability management for cases of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries including coordination of modified return to work plans and accommodations. In addition, you will support organizational strategic priorities, direction and initiatives.
The incumbent will focus on the process of early and safe return to work to follow cases from initiation to reporting, through to follow-ups with employees, submission to WSIB and subsequent follow-up. The return-to-work process will be initiated with offers of modified work; collaboration with stakeholders to arrange accommodations and facilitation of progression through the resumption of regular duties, while liaising with WSIB as required to assure compliance with regulations.
