A087 Tube Laser Machine Operator

Starting wages are based on your interview, experience and skill level. 2 x 15 min breaks paid. ½ hour lunch unpaid. Time and ½ paid after 44 hours.

Employment Period: Wednesday, April 2, 2025 to Saturday, May 31, 2025.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Objective: Tube laser machine operator position safely performs laser cutting for a variety of manufacturing products.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform typical laser cutting operations.
• Select proper cutting programs, tooling, and material.
• Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
• Make proper set-ups for cutting operations.
• Perform prescribed maintenance as required.
• Perform all dimensional inspections.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
• May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• 1 year of laser operator experience.
• Knowledge of operating software programs.
• Experience with a BLM LT8.20 Tube Laser is an asset.
• Overhead crane experience is an asset.
• Quality awareness.
• Positive attitude with good personal and communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Approved safety work boots, hearing protection, and vision protection are required.

Physical Demands:

The tube laser operators’ position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing during the shift.

You must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
