Job description

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  1. Proven competency in technical design, implementation, and administration of the Microsoft on-premises server environment and Azure cloud environment (Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy administration).
  2. Proven competency in technical support with the VMware environment, including but not limited to VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon.
  3. Proven competency with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) administration.
  4. Experience in influencing and establishing collaboration direction within an organization.
  5. Understanding of enterprise-level on-premises server and cloud architecture.
  6. Understanding of integrations between an on-premises environment and the cloud.
  7. Relevant job experience in North America.

The proposed Server Administrator candidate preferably will have the following skills and experience:

  1. Implementation, documentation, administration and troubleshooting of the enterprise server environment.
  2. Helps prepare plans for development and installation of server and storage according to present and future requirements.
  3. Provide expert technical design, implementation, and administration of the Microsoft on-premises Server environment and Azure cloud environment.
  4. Provides expert technical support with the VMware environment including but not limited to VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon.
  5. Provide expert technical support, implementation on Microsoft Server environment.
  6. Monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting and resolution of system problems to ensure system availability.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and maintain server disaster recovery including planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
  2. Manage and maintain the configuration, administration, upgrade, and maintenance of operational technology servers and related infrastructure.
  3. Interacts with our user base (corporate and field employees) on an as needed basis regarding technology issues and escalations.
  4. Works with server patch management processes and procedures to facilitate deployment.
  5. Maintains systems integrity through change control and problem management procedures and communication with internal customers.

Job Details:

The preference for start date is as soon as possible. The initial term for this role will conclude on March 31, 2026; after which SaskEnergy will evaluate its ongoing requirements and potentially extend the term for this Resource in accordance with the terms and conditions of the proponent’s Technology Master Service Agreement (TMSA).

The resource will be required to work and be located on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm CST and the proposed hourly rate shall be inclusive of all travel and living costs (PST and GST are extra). On-Call may be required as determined and agreed to by SaskEnergy and successful candidate.

  1. Follows Standard Operating Procedures when carrying out position responsibilities.
  2. Attends and participates in team meetings.
  3. Participate in the after hours on call rotation.
  4. Act as a representative of the Networks & Infrastructure department.
  5. Proven competency with server, storage, and cloud storage security best practices.
