Job description

Reporting to the 3D Modelling Coordinator, you will support the needs of the 3D modelling team within the Geology team of the Technical Services by participating in the interpretation of geological data. The main task will be to build 3D models based on lithological, structural and/or mineralization data. You will be part of a team of experts working on various projects in different geological environments.

As a key person, you will need to demonstrate curiosity, autonomy, excellent organizational skills, collaboration, and analytical skills. You must also be able to integrate data to help interpret and build models, acting as a reference for data availability and quality, and geological understanding of the deposit.

You may be required to work on projects located in all regions of Agnico Eagle's business (Canada, Mexico, Europe, United States, Australia) with the possibility of field visits.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure 3D modelling for various mandates assigned;
  • Ensure quality geological interpretation in line with industry best practices;
  • Deliver a quality model within established deadlines;
  • Communicate and work closely with various Agnico Eagle expert groups;
  • Provide relevant geological information to other technical services disciplines and support them by answering their questions;

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering. A Master's degree is an asset;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in geology, including 3 years as a modelling geologist;
  • Member in good standing of a professional association (Geologists or Engineers);
  • Solid experience in 3D modelling;
  • Able to work within established deadlines;
  • Knowledge of Leapfrog Geo is a considerable asset;
  • Knowledge of Leapfrog Edge, Datamine Studio RM, and Snowden Supervisor is an asset;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Able to communicate in French (oral and written) is an asset;
  • Able to communicate in Spanish is an asset;
  • Available to travel occasionally.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2, 4-3 schedule;
  • Workplace: Possibility to work in one of AEM's offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, Mirabel or Toronto;
  • Regular presence required in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and at the Preissac CSD office if located outside the region;
  • Possibility of a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an AEM office and some days in telecommuting.
