Under general supervision, performs preventative maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities / Tâches et responsabilités essentielles:
Works under limited supervision and follows written instructions and established procedures to complete assigned tasks.
Performs repairs and preventative maintenance services on vehicles and equipment.
Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
Estimates time and material costs for vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
Completes all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Responds to emergency breakdowns and performs service calls.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Completes required paperwork using fleet maintenance software for documenting repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
Assists senior mechanics with project work and complex repairs.
Reviews and completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OH&S standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Qualifications / Qualifications:
Education: Registered Apprentice
Experience: Registered 3rd Year Apprentice
Licenses: Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Must be at least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in Canada
