Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the St. Catharine's site on a full-time basis.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced 2nd Class Operating Engineer to join our St. Catharine’s Propulsion Plant - Powerhouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Required to safely and efficiently operate, maintain and repair high pressure steam gas fired boilers, air compressors and all auxiliary equipment in a first-class power plant.
• Able to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on various operational equipment.
• Perform the duties of the lead shift engineer as required for vacation and other absences.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Possession of a valid 2nd Class Operating Engineer's certificate.
• Able to work Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 3:00 day shift and cover some Shift Engineer Absences (7:00am - 7:00pm & 7:00pm - 7:00am).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Energetic and self-motivated.
• Familiar with the operation and maintenance of large air compressors.
• Working knowledge of DCS Controls.
• Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• You will earn an afternoon shift premium of 5%, a night shift premium of 10%, paid overtime in accordance with the collective agreement.
