Job description

Our client is a successful and profitable automotive parts manufacturer, and they are searching for a Materials Supervisor who will be responsible for coordinating materials department activities to meet divisional objectives.

Abbreviated Responsibilities:

  1. Developing, implementing, and managing proper procedures and processes to ensure high inventory accuracy for raw material, purchased components, WIP, and finished goods inventory in multi-site facilities
  2. Implementing necessary strategies to meet and maintain department goals
  3. Implement and refine effective Solidat Warehouse Management System
  4. Ensure effective JIT inventory mix sustained at each appropriate location
  5. Responsible for Material Analyst hiring, training, and overall performance
  6. Committing to the leadership and development of team members while fostering a positive, collaborative work culture
  7. Promoting and communicating lean management techniques
  8. Attend company APQP meeting, and provide timely information for program success
  9. Monitoring daily department outcomes (achieve inventory turns, 100% customer delivery performance, prevent material related downtime and expedited freight)
  10. Reporting on Key Performance Indicators in relation to department goals
  11. Ensuring overall safety, quality, and effective performance of Inventory Control and Planning
  12. Communicating effectively with suppliers (written and verbal) and purchasing team on a daily basis to achieve organizational objectives
  13. Take leading role in implementing flawless customer product launch and effective engineering changes
  14. Experience reconciling company inventory at outside processor facilities (remotely and on-site)
  15. Conduct inventory cycle counts/physical inventory and/or BOM audits on site and at suppliers
  16. Ensure inventory corrective actions are effective to ensure no repeat issues and read-across method is utilized
  17. Ensure supplier release issues are resolved effectively
  18. Maintain action plan to reduce slow moving inventory
  19. Ensure proper FIFO rotation of inventory
  20. Provide ongoing timely supplier performance feedback
  21. Actively participates in continuous improvement
  22. Maintain 5S standards in working environment
  23. Attend training based on internal training matrix
  24. Performs other duties as assigned or any reasonable request by management.

Your Profile:

  1. Post-secondary education or equivalent related to Materials Management & Supply Chain
  2. 5 years inventory management experience in a multi-site manufacturing preferably from Automotive manufacturing
  3. Experience with high level demand planning, master scheduling, inventory control
  4. 3 years Warehouse Management System experience (preferably Solidat)
  5. Extensive Supply Chain Experience (raw material, purchase component, outside processor suppliers)
  6. Strong Lean Manufacturing and process improvement experience
  7. Experience with ERP software and implementation. Preferably SAP or any other system.
  8. Excellent planning, interpersonal/leadership, team building, and organizational skills
  9. Excellent communication skills (English both written and verbal)
  10. Committed to continuous improvement and improving and automating manual processes
  11. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  12. Valid G driver’s license
  13. APICS CSCP –Certified Supply Chain Professional or equivalent is an asset
  14. Value stream mapping experience
  15. 6 Sigma Black/Green belt
  16. Canada & USA Customs experience
  17. Knowledge of ISO-14001 and TS/IATF-16949 quality systems
  18. Forklift/reach truck certification
  19. AZ driver’s license
